Gym Box works in any conditions
What sets a container gym apart from a marquee or garden shed — professional thermal insulation and a heating/cooling system. Gym Assistance fits air conditioning and heating as standard, not as an extra.
Inverter split — one unit, two functions
A split unit (inverter air conditioning) is our default solution:
➜ In summer — cools and dehumidifies the air (ideal for intensive training) ➜ In winter — heats even at −15°C outside ➜ Year-round — filters the air and maintains the right humidity
Power for Gym Box 8×3: 2.5–3.5 kW (class A++ or A+++) Power for Gym Box 7×5 (35 m²): 5.0–7.0 kW or 2 units
Running costs
Inverter split A+++ at 5 sessions per week (1.5 h each):
| Period | Mode | Energy use | Cost (UK rates) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Winter (3 months) | Heating | ~80 kWh/mo | ~£18/mo |
| Summer (3 months) | Cooling | ~50 kWh/mo | ~£12/mo |
| Spring/Autumn | Minimal | ~20 kWh/mo | ~£6/mo |
Gym Box thermal insulation
Air conditioning alone isn’t the whole story — insulation drives the heating cost:
| Insulation | Thickness | U value | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mineral wool | 100 mm | 0.35 W/m²K | Standard |
| PUR foam | 80 mm | 0.28 W/m²K | Good |
| PUR foam | 120 mm | 0.19 W/m²K | Excellent |
As standard we use PUR foam 80–100 mm — the optimal balance of cost and effectiveness.
