Birmingham and the wider West Midlands is one of our most active delivery areas. The mix of large suburban gardens in Solihull and Sutton Coldfield, growing demand for home fitness investment, and excellent road links across the region makes it an ideal fit for the Gym Box container gym.
Delivery Across the West Midlands and Warwickshire
We deliver to the full West Midlands metropolitan area and surrounding counties:
- West Midlands – Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Wolverhampton, Walsall, West Bromwich, Dudley, Stourbridge
- Warwickshire – Coventry, Royal Leamington Spa, Warwick, Kenilworth, Rugby, Stratford-upon-Avon
- Worcestershire and Shropshire – Bromsgrove, Redditch, Telford – on request
Delivery and installation are included in the project price for all locations within approximately 60 km of Birmingham city centre. Solihull, Sutton Coldfield and Wolverhampton are all within this zone.
Why the West Midlands Is a Good Market for Container Gyms
Solihull and Sutton Coldfield consistently rank among the most affluent suburbs in the Midlands, with large detached properties, generous rear gardens and high disposable income. These areas are a strong match for the Gym Box 11×3 – our full studio module at 33 m².
Coventry and Wolverhampton have a broader mix of housing stock including many semi-detached properties with rear gardens of 80–150 m². These comfortably accommodate the Gym Box 8×3 or 9×3, and many clients in these areas opt for a focused strength setup without the cardio machines, keeping the footprint tight and the budget controlled.
Garden Access and Site Assessment
Birmingham’s residential streets vary considerably in access width. For properties in tighter suburban plots – parts of Handsworth, Harborne or Erdington for example – we carry out a free site assessment to confirm delivery route options. In most cases, access through a standard rear gate or side passage is sufficient. Where this is not possible, we arrange crane lift or specialist low-loader delivery.
We assess access as part of the free quote. You do not need to arrange this separately.
Planning Permission – West Midlands
A container gym installed in a rear garden qualifies as permitted development in the majority of West Midlands residential properties. The standard conditions apply:
- Located in the rear garden, not the front
- Does not cover more than 50% of the total garden area
- Maximum height 2.5 m within 2 m of a boundary (4 m with pitched roof set further back)
- Property is not listed and the site is not in a designated Conservation Area or Article 4 Direction zone
Birmingham City Council, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Coventry City Council all follow standard national permitted development guidance for residential outbuildings. Parts of Sutton Coldfield town centre and some Warwickshire villages with Conservation Area designations may require a formal application. We confirm planning status for your specific address at no cost as part of the quote process.
