Why clients want a gym with a sauna
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
➜ You train 4–5 times a week, but the only sauna you have access to is at the gym – and it is rarely free ➜ You know recovery is half of the training effect, but at home there is nowhere to recover properly ➜ You have a garden and keep thinking: “I would like to put this space to some real use” ➜ You pay £40–£70/month for a gym plus a separate £25–£50 monthly spa pass – and you have already worked out it adds up to £800–£1,500 a year
A Gym Box with a sauna solves all of that in a single garden module. Training and recovery – without leaving home, without queues, without monthly fees.
What the Gym Box with sauna includes (Train & Recover)
A full configuration in one module:
| Zone | Area | What it contains |
|---|---|---|
| Training | ~25 m² | Full strength setup, climate control, mirrors, LED |
| Finnish sauna | ~4 m² | 6 kW heater, lime wood, up to 90°C, 2–3 people |
| Shower | ~3 m² | Tiles, floor drain, water heater |
Everything in one turnkey module, ready to use from day one.
How it works in practice
You step out into the garden. You train for 45–60 minutes. You walk into the sauna (already up to temperature because you scheduled the timer 30 minutes earlier from the app). You sit for 15–20 minutes. You take a cold shower. You head back into the house.
No commute. No waiting. No monthly fees.
Module variants
| Variant | Dimensions | Training area | Price |

The price covers: the module, training equipment, a sauna with a 6 kW heater, a tiled shower, climate control, 3-phase electrical installation, flooring, lighting, transport and assembly.
You don’t have to do it all at once
If budget is a constraint, you can start with the gym alone – with the sauna prepped for later:
Stage 1 – GymBox with prep (from £23,000 +VAT): ➜ GymBox 6×4 or 8×3 m with a full gym ➜ Plumbing stubs in place for the future shower ➜ 3-phase electrical reserve for the sauna heater ➜ Floor space reserved for the Recover zone
Stage 2 – adding the sauna (custom quote): ➜ Partition wall inside the existing module or a separate sauna module attached to the side ➜ Heater installation, sauna door, shower fit-out
A phased approach spreads the investment over time without compromising quality.
Technical requirements
Electrical: ➜ A 6 kW sauna heater requires a 3-phase supply (5-wire TN-S cable) ➜ The 3-phase connection from the property to the module is on the client’s side (Gym Assistance routes it inside the module)
Foundation: ➜ Concrete slab or screw piles – cost depends on the ground, approx. £1,600–£3,000 ➜ The client commissions the foundation or we recommend trusted contractors
Permissions (UK): ➜ Modules under 30 m² in the rear garden, on point footings, with no separate dwelling use → generally permitted development ➜ Boundary distances, listed building status, conservation areas and AONBs require a pre-application check ➜ Garden Gym Planning Permission Guide →
Frequently asked questions
Does the sauna take long to heat up? A Finnish electric sauna needs about 30–45 minutes to reach 80–90°C. A timer or an app lets you have it ready by the time your workout ends.
Can the module hold heat in winter when not used daily? Yes – the module is year-round, with polyurethane insulation rated at U = 0.24 W/m²K. A heat-pump climate unit holds the temperature even at -20°C outside. The sauna adds residual heat after every session.
How does the module smell? Lime wood smells pleasant and very subtle. Sauna ventilation is separated from the rest of the module, so the scent does not creep into the training zone.
