Container Gym Lead Time — UK Edition

“How long will I be waiting for my gym?” It’s one of the first questions every client asks. And rightly so — lead time decides when you place the order, when the slab needs to be ready, and when you can realistically book in your first workout.

The honest answer: 12 weeks from your deposit, for every Gym Box. Below, the same 12 weeks broken down by stage.

End-to-end timeline — stage overview

StageWhat happensTime
1. Enquiry and quoteA call or a written enquiry, spec the build, prepare the quotation2–5 working days
2. Technical drawingsProduction drawings, internal layout, M&E5–10 working days
3. Acceptance and contractYou sign off the design and the contract and pay the 30% deposit (payment plan 30 / 50 / 20) — the 12 weeks start here1–3 days
4. Module productionSteel frame, insulation, windows, doors, services — at our factory in Pawłów, Poland4–6 weeks
5. Internal fit-outFlooring, finishes, lighting, equipmentparallel with production
6. TransportHGV and ferry crossing to your site1–7 days
7. Install and commissioningLift onto the foundation, power connection, sign-off, hand-over1–2 days

Total from your deposit to first workout: 12 weeks. The stages above fit inside that with room to spare — the rest is your slot in the production schedule, quality control and a buffer for the crossing.

The same applies to non-standard sizes and richer specifications — a sauna, a wellness zone, full panoramic glazing: 12 weeks from your deposit. A bespoke layout simply needs a few more design conversations before you sign.

Why 12 weeks?

Worth asking directly — here’s the straight answer.

➜ Every module is built to order. There is no warehouse of pre-built gyms waiting for a buyer. Each Gym Box is welded, insulated and fitted out to the specifications of one specific project.

➜ A fixed slot in the production schedule. Your deposit books your slot; the build itself takes 4–6 weeks within the 12. Spring (March–July) is the busiest time, so slots fill up first — the 12 weeks don’t change, but the earlier you pay the deposit, the earlier your date.

➜ Quality control. Before transport, every module goes through electrical PAT, watertightness check and frame-level certification.

➜ Cross-border logistics. Modules to the UK travel by HGV with a roll-on/roll-off ferry crossing — already counted in the 12 weeks.

When to place the order

Want to train through the summer?

Pay the deposit by mid-February. Delivery and install then land in May–June. Get the foundation laid in parallel with the build at the factory.

Want to train through the autumn?

Pay the deposit in May–June, take delivery in August–September. Optimal window — you avoid the spring rush and the unit is ready well before winter.

Year-round use, no specific window?

The Gym Box is built for year-round use (120 mm insulation, electric heating standard). Order whenever — winter installs run without issue and shorter daylight is only a logistics constraint, not a build one.

What you can prepare while the module is being built

Production time is your window to ready the site:

➜ Foundation — concrete pad footings or a reinforced slab. UK lead time: 5–10 working days through a local groundworker, longer in winter if frost stops the pour.
➜ Electrical supply — notify your DNO if you need a new connection or an upgrade to 3-phase. UK timeline: 6–12 weeks depending on the network operator. Start it the day you sign the contract.
➜ Planning paperwork — if you’re applying for a Lawful Development Certificate, file it in parallel with the contract signing (8–12-week determination).

What does install day look like?

Delivery and install is normally one working day.

In the morning a flatbed arrives with the module on board and a HIAB or mobile crane lifts it onto the prepared foundation. After levelling and securing, the install team checks all the services and hands you the access codes, manuals and certification pack.

By the afternoon — you can walk in and look at your new gym.

Power connection (if the supply was prepared in advance): an extra 2–3 hours for a qualified electrician to terminate and test.

Sound familiar?

“I wanted a gym for summer, but I was scared I’d miss the window.”

12 weeks from your deposit — that’s the date we commit to. Pay the deposit in March and you’re training by June, well before the August bank holiday. Decide in May — August or early September is realistic.
